National emergency hotline 999 gets English support

The National Emergency Service, 999, has added a new feature to its services for English language speakers.
Inspector Anwar Sattar, media and public relations officer of the service, told The Business Standard that they had dedicated some desks to those who have a good command over the English language.
"Some foreigners and English-speaking Bangladeshis regularly seek help from 999. Thus, the authorities today launched the new feature dedicated for English speakers," Anwar said.
