3 yaba traders killed in Chakaria 'gunfight'

Three unidentified smugglers were killed in a "gunfight" with police while trading a large consignment of yaba in Chakaria of Cox's Bazar.
The gunfight took place after Thursday midnight inside the hilly Amtali Gorjan garden in Baniyarchhara, Chakaria on Cox's Bazar-Chittagong highway.
Some 44,000 contraband yaba tablets and two local firearms, seven rounds of ammunition and 15 rounds of used shell casings were recovered from the spot.
Officer-in-Charge of Chakaria Police Station Habibur Rahman claimed that four policemen including himself were injured during the gun-battle.
"The identity of the deceased have not been confirmed yet, but they were drug dealers and armed terrorists," he said confirming the matter to The Business Standard.
Their bodies have been sent to Cox's Bazar sadar hospital for post mortem. Three separate cases are being filed under the murder, weapons and Narcotics Control Act.
