PM witnesses presentation on JS Bhaban development
A presentation was made to utilise 52,097 square feet lands of North Plaza of the JS Bhaban for solving accommodation problems of the JS staffers
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today witnessed a presentation on the development activities of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban.
"Various aspects of the development of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban through powerpoint presentation were made at the prime minister's official residence at Ganabhaban this morning," said PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim.
JS sources said there are 1321 officials and employees at the parliament secretariat. But they are now facing accommodation problems in the present Sangsad Bhaban.
In this context, a presentation was made to utilise 52,097 square feet lands of North Plaza of the JS Bhaban for solving accommodation problems of the JS staffers, the press secretary further added.
Besides, officials concerned made presentations about parliament's unbuilt infrastructures like hospitality (convention) building and community building which were under the plan of its Architect Louis I Kahn.
According to Karim presentations were also made on renovations of the main parliament building, MP hostels, and five NAM buildings.
During the time, he said, the prime minister gave various directives to the authorities concerned for the development of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Liton Chowdhury, Awami League's Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, MP, Chief Architect of the Department of Architecture ASM Aminur Rahman were present on the occasion, among others.
