The minister has said one can now apply for the services of this ministry from anywhere in the world
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque has said all the services of the ministry are now provided digitally.
"All service-related information has been included on the website of the ministry. One can apply for the services of this ministry from anywhere in the world," he added.
The minister announced this while addressing a meeting on the occasion of "Service Week 2021," organised by the ministry, in front of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs building in Dhaka on Monday.
The service week is being celebrated from 12 to 18 January 2021, read a press release.
AKM Mozammel Haque said that the process to pay the honourary allowance of Bir Muktijoddha directly into the accounts of freedom fighters has already started. It is done through mobile messages from the Bangladesh Bank using the Government to Person (G2P) system.
"In this system, the government will bear all related surcharges. For this, the necessary information of freedom fighters has been included in the database software management information system [MIS]," he added.
He said 14,000 houses will be constructed for indigent freedom fighters on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the independence of the country.
The minister said that vigilance is being maintained so that freedom fighters are not harmed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He mentioned that the novel coronavirus vaccines will be given to the freedom fighters in the first phase.
Mozammel Haque said the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs is working to preserve all relics related to the Liberation War.
Secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs Tapan Kanti Ghosh, freedom fighters, as well as officials and employees of the ministry, the National Freedom Fighters Council, and Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust were present on the occasion.
