The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have decided to part ways with head coach Steve Rhodes, after a disappointing World Cup campaign, on Monday.
The decision is understood to be mutual from both ends after Bangladesh failed to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup, with what was touted as their strong ODI team ever.
The team had an amazing all-round performance from Shakib Al Hasan who scored 606 runs and took 11 wickets, but only managed to win three games.

BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed that they reached a mutual understanding with Rhodes and that his tenure with the team would be terminated with immediate effect.
“You know after any big events every board assesses the performance of their coaching staffs and we also met to discuss the issue soon after the completion of our team’s last group match against Pakistan at Lord’s. You know its vice-a-versa as Steve Rhodes has to have the desire to continue the job and the board has to want to keep him. Finally, we came to a mutual understanding,” said Nizamuddin.
BCB appointed Rhodes as head coach on June 7 2018, after the post remained vacant for seven months following the resignation of Chandika Hathurusingha in October 2017.
It was then informed by the BCB that Rhodes's contract will see him take charge of the Tigers till the T20 World Cup in 2020 in Australia.
The next board meeting by the BCB will help decide who they want to bring as the head coach of Bangladesh ahead of their tour of Sri Lanka later this month.
