Noted actress Anwara Begum, who worked with ATM Shamsuzzaman in the movie "Noyonmoni," became very emotional while talking about her memories with the veteran actor.
"We worked together in several movies. It will take me ages to talk about all the fond memories I share with the wonderful actor," she said.
"He mostly acted as a villain in movies so most people assume that he was a negative person in real life but in reality he was a wonderful person and an incredible actor. May Allah bless him with Jannat," she added.

Popular celebrity couple playwright Brindabon Das and actor Shahnaz Khushi who have worked with the esteemed actor in dramas such as "Ronger manush," "Ghor kutum" and "Sakin Sarisuri" were quite close to the actor.

Brindabon Das said, "I am really fortunate that I was able to work with such a talented actor. Apart from acting, he used to give me life lessons. We have lost such an important figure from our industry."
"Usually I try to avoid places with death news but when I heard about the demise of ATM Shamsuzzaman, I could not control myself. He was such a fun loving person and his words were filled with wisdom that even juniors like us could learn from his lifestyle. I am really fortunate that he has worked in dramas I wrote. My dramas became popular thanks to his wonderful acting," he continued.
"I was able to work with him on two-three dramas as a co-artists. He was such a big personality but he used to mix with his co-artists so easily. He has left this industry with a big void," he added.
"I visited him while he was undergoing treatment at the hospital. He said he wanted to work in dramas. I told him we will work soon but due to Covid-19 we could not work together. I believe that ATM Shamsuzzaman will live forever in the hearts of his audience and as long as Bangla dramas exist he will forever be immortalised in the hearts of the audience," he said.

"It is really hard for me to say anything right now. There is a huge difference between acting in theater and acting for television. My first serial was "Voboghure" and I used to get frustrated thinking that my acting was not up to the mark. ATM Bhai always used to tell me, 'I have seen a different actress in you. I know that you will surpass everything and become a wonderful actress,'" she said.
"He was my role model. I was really depressed mentally about my acting during the first days of television but ATM Bhai really helped me throughout that phase. He cared about all of his co-artists and he always looked after and cared for me a lot," she added.
Farida Akhtar Babita
"My elder sister Kohinoor Akhter Shuchanda had just started working in the film industry when I was an adolescent. Shamsuzzaman used to visit our house. I used to go with my sister and enjoy acting."
"Afterwards, I started working. Shamsuzzaman appreciated my good works and advised me how to perform efficiently. He was a brilliant actor. He had the charisma to get into any character as acting was in his blood," Babita continued.
Babita said that she got the chance to work with such a talented actor in various films, including Noyonmoni, Golapi Ekhon Traine, Madam Fuli, and Lathial. "I had a good personal relationship with him. We three sisters were with Shamsuzzaman around two hours when he was admitted to the hospital."
There was a scene of puffing cigarette in Golapi Akhon Traine film but I could not do that when Shamsuzzaman taught me that. Everything is just memory today, she added.
