Death toll in Kasba train accident rises to 18

Death toll in Brahmanbaria train accident has risen to 18 as two injured victims died on November 16 and 17 while undergoing treatment in Dhaka and Sylhet.
Tara Harijan, 45, of Sudharam upazila in Noakhali, died undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital on November 16.
Shyamol Kanti Das, officer-in-charge of Akhaura Railway Police Station, confirmed the matter.
In Sylhet, another victim of the train accident, an elderly man died yesterday afternoon while undergoing treatment at the intensive observation center of MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet.
The deceased is Dholai Mia, 65, of Habiganj district.
Dholai Mia, along with his son Joj Mia, were admitted to the hospital on November 12.
Brigadier General Yunusur Rahman, Director of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, confirmed the matter.
At least 16 people were killed and dozens injured as Udayan Express and Turna Nishita collided at Mandabhag Railway Station on Dhaka-Sylhet route in Brahmanbaria's Kasba upazila at around 3am on November 12, leaving more than 100 injured.
