edotco and DNCC partner towards smart city vision
edotco Bangladesh, an integrated telecommunications infrastructure services company in Bangladesh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) yesterday to build smart poles in the dense urban areas of the city corporation.
Under the project, smart features like free wifi, digitalised waste management system through smart bins and real-time air quality monitoring features will be provided in key locations, all of which will come as a benefit to the citizens. The integrated solution will also have provisions for security surveillance, energy-saving LED light and digital signage.
Speaking at the occasion, Md Atiqul Islam, Mayor of DNCC, said, "We are committed to ensuring improved city experience to our citizens. By turning Dhaka into a Smart City through such smart city initiatives, we will move one step closer to achieving the Digital Bangladesh vision. Fundamentally, a consolidated and standardised mobile network structure is an inseparable component of the Smart City. With that notion, we're excited to jointly work with edotco to ensure our citizens get the most accessible connectivity anytime, anywhere."

Chief Town Planner Maqsud Hashem, Corporate Affairs & Planning Division Ishrat Zerin and Head of Sales and Marketing Reven Dewan along with the other high officials of DNCC and edotco Bangladesh were present at the signing.
