Sudan airport stamps '32 Dec 2019' on passport!
The same thing had happened in Mumbai back in 2017
As the entire world welcomed New Year with lots of warm wishes and resolutions, customs officials at Sudan's Khartoum International Airport appeared to have dated a traveller's exit visa for the non-existent "32" of December.
A photograph of a Sudan airport passport stamp dated "32nd Dec 2019" made its rounds on social media after it was shared on Twitter.
The viral Twitter post was captioned with "2019 hasn't ended in Sudan".
Other users on Twitter were quick to share their theories on the stamp.
Some joked that the year 2019 had been extended in Sudan, while others put forward the more likely theory that it might have been an unintended mistake.
"When you are afraid of 2020," one user commented.
While some speculated that this picture could just be an example of good photoshop skills, others pointed out that it could very well be genuine because the same thing had happened in Mumbai back in 2017, reports Indiatimes.com.
Twitter user Harjinder Singh shared a picture of a similar date stamp. The personnel at the passport office somehow never bothered to check the date and put the incorrect stamp on multiple passports.
Billions around the world cheered in 2020 after a tumultuous year dominated by demonstrations calling for political revolt and action on climate change.
Sudan was one such case, with protesters taking to the street in historic mass demonstrations that led to the ouster of former dictator Omar al-Bashir.
