ICT-1 verdict against 5 Gaibandha Razakars any day
After hearing arguments from both the prosecution and the defence lawyers, the three-member ICT-1, led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam, passed the order to conclude the hearing in the case
The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Sunday, concluded its hearing against five alleged war criminals for ‘crimes against humanity’, declaring that the verdict is to be expected any day. The alleged have been convicted of committing crimes against humanity in Gaibandha during the Liberation War.
After hearing arguments from both the prosecution and the defence lawyers, the three-member ICT-1, led by Justice Md Shahinur Islam, passed the order to conclude the hearing in the case.
There were six accused in the case. Among them, Md Ranju Miah is in jail and on Sunday he was present at the court. Other four accused are on the run, while one of the accused passed away.
Public Prosecutor Mukhlesur Rahman Badal, Sabina Yasmin Munni, and Tapos Kanti Baul represented the state during the hearing; while lawyer Abul Hasan argued on behalf of the accused.
