RAB still trying to find Elias Ali
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is still trying to find Elias Ali and has always provided all-out legal assistance to the family of the BNP chairperson's advisor, claimed Khandaker Al Moin, director of the RAB's law and media wing, at a press conference on Thursday.
"The news that Netra News has published from Sweden involving RAB is baseless. Every operation of the RAB is conducted following the law," he said at the press conference held at Karwanbazar in the capital.
"On the contrary, since Elias Ali disappeared, whenever his wife came to us, we gave her the highest legal assistance," he said.
Elias Ali and his driver Ansar Ali were picked up by unknown persons from Banani Road in the capital on 17 April, 2012. The police later recovered his abandoned car. They have been missing since then.
The RAB official said they are still cooperating with Elias Ali's wife and were probing any information she gave them.
This month, Sweden-based Netra News published a report on the disappearance of Elias Ali where it was alleged that RAB was involved behind the kidnapping of the BNP leader.
