Rangpur’s China-returnee student free of coronavirus: IEDCR
“The patient is now in good health”
A China-returnee Bangladeshi student, who was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Saturday, has been declared free of coronavirus after further test by Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).
"The patient is now in good health," said IEDCR Director Professor Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora.
On Sunday, a 12-member medical board at Rangpur Medical College Hospital found the patient coronavirus-free after the initial test. Later, his samples were sent to IEDCR for further test.
He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday as he was not feeling well for the last few days. Doctors kept him isolated from the general patients.
Meanwhile, another student has been transferred to capital's Kurmitola General Hospital from Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Monday, in critical condition with early symptoms of coronavirus.
The death toll from a coronavirus outbreak in mainland China rose to 908 as of the end of Sunday, the National Health Commission (NHC) said on Monday.
Across mainland China, there were 3,062 new confirmed infections on Sunday, bringing the total number so far to 40,171.
