Light to moderate rain likely over country
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places and at a few places over parts of the country with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country", said a met office forecast valid for the next 24 hours.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, added forecast that begins from 9am today.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the southern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
The country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 36.0 degrees Celsius at Badalgachi and the minimum temperature today was recorded at 24.0 degrees Celsius jointly at Sitakunda and Rangamati.
Country's maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded by 101 millimeters(mm) at Rangamati.
