Gold prices increase yet again
The new prices will come into effect from Tuesday, said a press release of the association
The price of gold has increased yet again due to a price hike in international market caused by global instability and devaluation of dollar.
Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association (Bajus), at its executive meeting, raised the price of gold on Monday by Tk1,166 per bhori (1 bhori = 11.664 grams).
The new prices will come into effect from Tuesday, said a press release of the association.
After the new rates apply, customers will have to pay approximately an additional Tk1,200 depending on the quality of the precious yellow metal.
According to the press release, the uptrend of gold prices in the international market is the reason for the price increase in the domestic bullion market.
According to the new price list, per bhori of 22-carat gold will sell at Tk58,028, up from Tk56,862 on Tuesday.
A bhori of 21-carat gold will sell at Tk55,695, up by Tk1,166, while 18-carat gold will sell at Tk50,680, up by Tk1,167.
Bajus, however, kept the price of Silver the same as earlier – Tk933.
