Key accused in human trafficking to Libya arrested
After arresting, RAB got to know that the accused is coronavirus positive.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Kamal Hossain, 55, one of the masterminds of the human trafficking ring, in connection with the killings of 26 Bangladeshis in Libya.
A team of RAB-3 arrested him today and revealed important information about the smuggling ring, RAB Operations Officer ABM Faijul Islam confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
After arresting, RAB got to know that the accused is coronavirus positive. RAB also confiscated many passports while arresting him.
A total of three separate cases have been filed in Madaripur and Kishoreganj on Sunday over the gruesome killings of 26 Bangladeshi migrants in Libya.A group of miscreants captivated some 38 Bangladeshis for ransom as the traffickers were escorting them to Tripoli from Benghazi across the desert of Libya.
A total of 26 Bangladeshis were killed and 11 got injured on Thursday.
Among the killed and injured migrants in Libya, 15 are from Madaripur, 9 from Kishoreganj, and the rest of them are from other districts.
