"In his death, Bangladesh lost a dedicated politician.”
President Mohammad Abdul Hamid has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of Bangladesh Awami League presidium member and former health minister Mohammad Nasim.
In a condolence message, the President said, "Mohammad Nasim was a fearless fighter in all democratic movements of the country including our liberation war. He was elected a Member of Parliament five times because he was a favourite leader of the people."
"His death is an irreparable loss to the national politics of Bangladesh. The name, Mohammad Nasim, will forever shine in the political history of the country," the condolence message reads.
The President further said, "The nation will remember respectfully the contribution of Mohammad Nasim in the development of his party and the country, its people and democracy. In his death, Bangladesh lost a dedicated politician."
The President prayed for the salvation of Mohammad Nasim's soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
