The body of Shahjahan Sheikh, 55, the publicity secretary of Biratara union Awami League, was found floating in a pond near his home in Munshiganj's Sreenagar upazila.
Shahjahan had been missing since yesterday (3 October) afternoon after leaving his house.
Locals discovered his body in a pond near Kathalbari mosque around 11am today and informed the police.
