BSF returns Bangladeshi national’s body after 3 days
Deceased Abdul Jalil was a resident of West Gobrakura village in Mymensingh
India's Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday returned the body of Bangladeshi national Abdul Jalil, who they shot dead at the Haluaghat border area in Mymensingh three days ago.
The deceased was a resident of West Gobrakura village under Haluaghat upazila.
The BSF returned the body through Pillar 1124 after holding a flag meeting with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at no man's land near the Gobrakura land port.

The meeting was attended by several BGB, BSF and other personnel, including BGB's Gobrakura BOP Commander Naik Subedar Harun Ar Rashid, Koraitali Company Commander Abdul Majid and Haluaghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abubakar Siddique.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation and a shortage of available doctors, the autopsy of Jalil was delayed, and this in turn caused a delay in handing over his body, the BSF said at the flag meeting.
Haluaghat Police Station OC Abu Bakar Siddique received Jalil's body and then handed it over to his family.
The police official told The Business Standard, "Jalil had psychological issues, and went missing after leaving home on Monday evening. He was shot last Tuesday allegedly for crossing the border."
On that day, a flag meeting was held between the BGB and BSF following the incident. During that meeting, the BSF apologised for the killing, but refused to hand over the body without autopsy.
