Bachelors DO exist!
Since time immemorial, we have been considered to be “refugees”, trouble makers, inauspicious and “messy” having no rights to live on this earth
Among all out there - students, job holders, businessmen, rickshaw pullers, and vagabonds, there is one more particular group of people named "bachelor", conversely called "rhinoceros" as we have reached that highest peak of not feeling anything.
Yes, we DO exist! We are those people who have not been lucky enough to marry yet and surviving as a bachelor has become the real struggle of our life.
We eat, we sleep, we love listening to music, we like doing everything any normal human being would do.
But! We are not always considered as human beings by most of the people around us.
Since time immemorial, we have been considered to be "refugees", trouble makers, inauspicious and "messy" having no rights to live on this earth.
Among our deniers first, come the landlords. They hold a very dear position in the core of our hearts.
They slap their doors on our faces, (God knows what they see on our innocent faces!) saying that they do not rent a place to us, yet, we do not lose hope and keep knocking their doors constantly.
"We do not rent to the bachelors" - has become the much-endured sentence in our life.
Some homeowners firm with their decision that the sun may rise in the west someday, but they will not let us in their house.
Sometimes, we feel that living on the roads is a far better idea than looking for a house to rent.
And when we ultimately manage to get a place to live, the house owner comes up with the never-ending list of to-dos and not to-dos.
It is their generosity that we now feel the urge to return home within 10 pm.
There is a complaint against us that we are messy! I mean obviously you have nothing to do if the kitchen comes up with some permanent marks on the wall while we are cooking and what can we do when there is no other way instead of breaking the glass for broadband connection and of course it is tiresome for us to throw wastes in the dustbin instead of sink!
We never complain about the water taps being broken or rainwater coming to our rooms! But no one looks at those.
Then comes up the housemaid! Famously known as "Khala". We are hostages to them.
Though we try our best, our relationship with them does not last long for some mysterious reasons. They come and go regardless of time. Most of the days they do not come to work at all and never bother to let us know. We will only come to know about it when we are hungry.
Words will fall short if we describe her cooking.
However, in the days of constant negligence, we bachelors are only loved by one species in this world - bed bugs. We are constantly in good terms.
Tolerating all this, we, the bachelors, survived in the past, we do now and we will definitely leave our footmarks in future as well.
