Taskin Ahmed and Jaker Ali Anik achieved career-high positions in the latest ICC Test rankings following their stellar performances in the first Test against the West Indies.
Taskin's fiery bowling spell, including his maiden five-wicket haul, and Jaker's gritty batting helped them make significant progress in the rankings.
Taskin climbed 16 places to secure 51st position in the bowling rankings after his career-best figures of 6 for 64 in the second innings. Meanwhile, Jaker, playing in just his second Test, moved up 24 places to 84th in the batting rankings after scoring a resilient 53 and 31 across the two innings.
Bangladesh suffered a 201-run defeat in the match, but there were other bright spots in the rankings update. Among Bangladeshi players, Taijul Islam remains the highest-ranked bowler at 23rd, though he slipped five places, while Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das continue to lead the batting charts for Bangladesh, both ranked 32nd.
