U-21 Hockey: Bangladesh clinch five-match series
Captain Sohanur Rahman Sabuj sealed the victory for Bangladesh scoring twice from penalty corners in a span just three minutes (40th and 43rd minutes) (4-0).
Bangladesh U-21 Hockey team clinched the Walton five-match practice series 3-0 with one match to spare crushing the touring Oman U-21 Hockey team by 4-1 goals in the 4th match at Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium here on Saturday.
Hosts Bangladesh Youth Hockey team made a good start in the series defeating Oman by 5-1 goals in the opening match and defeated them by 2-0 goals in the 3rd match after playing 2-2 draw in the 2nd match.
Bangladesh will play Oman in the 5th and last match on Tuesday at the same venue at 4 pm.
In the day's match, Mahbub Hossain opened the account for Bangladesh scoring a field goal in the 2nd minute (1-0) while Ashraful Islam doubled the margin scoring from a penalty corner in the 13th minute (2-0).

Rashad Al Fazari netted the face-saving goal for Oman just two minutes before of final whistle (58th minute) (4-1).
Before the day's match, President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) and Chief of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat distributed the crest among the players.
Besides, BHF Vice-Presidents Abdur Rashed Shikder, Dr Mahfuzur Rahman, Sajed AA Adel, Zakir Ahmed and Mohammad Yousuf Ali were also present on the occasion.
