ATU arrest Hizb ut-Tahrir member in Cumilla
The arrestee graduated in EEE from the International University of Bangladesh in 2016.
An Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) team, in a drive, arrested an active member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, a banned militant organisation, from Singla area of Daudkandi upazila in Cumilla on Monday.
The 29-year-old arrestee was identified as Omar Faisal, son of Md Fazlur Rahman, hailing from the same area, said a media statement from ATU on Wednesday.
It also said that Omar graduated in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the International University of Bangladesh in 2016.
Mobile devices and several books published under the initiative of Hizb ut-Tahrir were seized from Omar's possession.
According to the statement, he is a fugitive accused in a case filed with Vatara Police Station in Dhaka.
