Bank official fatally struck by falling rocks during climb in Chattogram’s Khoiyachara waterfall

A bank official died in an accident at the Khoiyachora waterfall in Mirsarai upazila on Friday afternoon.
The victim, Mahbub, 27, was an employee of One Bank and was visiting the popular tourist spot with five of his colleagues from Dhaka.
According to Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Quader of Mirsarai Police Station, the group of six had come to the area to enjoy the natural beauty of the waterfall.
While climbing towards the waterfall, Mahbub was fatally struck by falling stones, and he died on the spot.
"Another member of the group was seriously injured in the incident. He was quickly rescued and rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit [ICU]", said the OC.
Police confirmed that once Mahbub's family arrives in Chattogram, his body will be handed over to them.
This is the second death at the Khoiyachora waterfall this month. Earlier, on September 5, the body of a student was recovered from the waterfall 48 hours after going missing.
Authorities are urging visitors to take extra precautions when exploring in hilly and rocky areas.
