‘Bhai, please don’t beat me, I will not write news anymore’
Chattogram journalist Golam Sarwar was found unconscious with bruises all over his body on Sunday evening, four days after he went missing.
Witnesses said some miscreants dropped Sarwar off in the Kumira area from an ambulance.
When locals took him to a nearby shop, he was still unconscious, but his bruises were already speaking about how much torture he endured in past four days.
The scene became more touching when he regained little consciousness. The truamatised journalist was begging to people there saying, "'Bhai, please don't beat me, please, please, please, I will not write news anymore. I will quit journalism."
He was repeatedly saying the lines above fearing he was still under the clutch of the miscreants. The tear jerker scene made many people, who were present there, cry.
Sarwar went missing on 29 October morning, 5 days after he wrote a report on land grabbing by a local influential person. He also reported on some other crimes and illegal gambling.
He was rushed to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital from Kumira and currently undergoing treatment there.
