He also assured that prices of vegetables would come down soon
The government is providing priority on bringing back the money laundered abroad, Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed said today (20 October).
"We have formed taskforce to bring back money that has been illegally taken abroad. We started work on bringing back the money," he told reporters after the Adviser's Council Committee on Government Procurement (ACCGP) meeting at the Secretariat.
Responding to another question on market conditions, the adviser said that vegetables are seasonal product and assured that prices of vegetables would come down soon.
"We are doing everything for stabilising the market. The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) and other agencies are providing efforts to ensure supply of daily commodities," he added.
He stated that the government has started selling agricultural products at affordable prices under Open Market Sale (OMS) programme at different areas in the city to stabilise the market.
TCB, Department of Agricultural Marketing and some other private agencies are selling daily commodities at fair prices, he added.
Salehuddin informed that the government will further increase the volume of sales under TCB.
