A Dhaka court on Tuesday granted bail to two leaders of the Muktijuddha Mancha over the attack on Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur.
Dhaka metropolitan sessions judge KM Imrul Kayes granted bail to the Muktijuddha Mancha leaders Yeasir Arafat Turjo and Al Mamun.
The Detective Branch of police arrested Mamun, general secretary of a faction of the Muktijuddha Mancha and Turjo, general secretary of its Dhaka University unit on December 23, 2019.
Ducsu Vice President Nur and activists of Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad came under an attack reportedly by the activists of Muktijoddha Mancha on December 22 last year.
Witnesses said the attack was carried out when Nur and some activists of Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad were holding a meeting at Ducsu office.
Ducsu VP Nur and thirty others, including the Parishad Convener Hasan al Mamun, its Joint Convener Mohammad Rashed Khan, Faruk Hossain, were injured in the attack.
