Ducsu VP Nur now faces attempted murder charge
A former Bangladesh Chhatra League leader filed the case two days after Nur filed a case against 37 Chhatra League activists
A former Dhaka University Chhatra League leader has filed a case against 29 people, including Dhaka University Central Student's Union (Ducsu) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur, accusing them of "attacking" him.
DM Sabbir Hossain, former vice president of Bangladesh Chhatra League of the Zahurul Haque Hall unit, filed the case with Shahbagh police station on Thursday, confirmed Officer-in-Charge (operation) Mahbubur Rahman.
According to the case statement, Nur and his aides "attacked" Sabbir in Ducsu area on the campus on December 22.
The same day, a section of Muktijoddha Mancha activists allegedly carried out an attack on Nur and his followers inside his Ducsu office.
On December 24, Akter Hossen, social welfare secretary of Ducsu filed a case on behalf of Nur with the capital's Shahbagh police station against 37 Chhatra League activists for attacking Ducsu VP.
