Mintu Chakma accused in Shaktiman Chakma killing arrested with pistol in Rangamati

An army team from Rangamati zone arrested an accused in the murder case of Naniarchar Upazila Chairman, Advocate Shaktiman Chakma, from Sonaram Kabirpara in the district on Friday.
The arrested is identified as Mintu Chakma, 39, an active member of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF).
Acting on a tipoff, a team conducted a raid in the area and arrested Mintu Chakma with firearms, reads a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) on Saturday.
The team recovered a locally made pistol, two bullets, several SIM cards, and four litres of local wine.
Mintu Chakma has been in hiding for a long time, accused in Shaktiman Chakma's murder case and was involved in terrorism and extortion.
He was handed over to Naniarchar police after primary interrogation and a firearms case was filed against him. Later, he was sent to Rangamati jail.
