Duck grows horn-like object on head in Rangpur
According to an expert, it may have happened for genetic defects
Almost everyone has heard the story of a king who had horns in his head. People of his kingdom went to see the king.
A similar incident has taken place in Rangpur. This time, not a king but a duck has grown a horn-like object on head.
Anisur Rahman of Bara Darga area under Kalyani union at Pirgachha upazila in Rangpur district, bought 14 eggs to breed ducks. One of the ducks has developed the horn-like object in the head after a month of its birth.
This now has become the talk of the town in the locality.
However, relevant people said that it was for genetic issues. Local newspapers have also made news about the fact.
Anisur said that he had been rearing ducks since his childhood but had never seen anything like this before.
"Hundreds of people gather at my house every day to see the duck," he said.
Nur Alam, local union parishad chairman, said he had asked the curious visitors to maintain social distancing.
Forhad Noman, veterinary surgeon of the upazila livestock office, said it might have happened for genetic defects.
But it is not a big deal, he added.
