Family finds student body’s buried 40 days after his missing

The missing student Shakib Rafi, who was buried at Jurain Graveyard in the capital as unidentified after recovery of his body from Hajirjheel Lake, finally has been identified by family.

Monowara Hossain, mother of the deceased, filed a missing diary with Vatara police station after one day on 14 January.
His body was buried as unidentified on 11 February, but his family came to know the truth on Monday.
Police confirmed the death while his mother showed the photo of Sadman at Hatirjheel police station.
Confirming the matter Md Ashik Hasan, assistant commissioner of Tejgaon Industrial Zone told The Business Standard, police recovered the body of an unidentified youth floating in the water of Hatirjheel on 14 January.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy on the day.
As the body was not identified, it was buried at the graveyard under the supervision of Anjuman Mufidul Islam on 11 February, he added.
According to the GD, Sadman left his house without informing anyone in the morning on January 13 from Bashundhara residential area. His family members also found his phone switched off.
