A Khulna Railway Station staff has been detained over allegations of displaying messages from banned Bangladesh Chhatra League on the station's screen.
The detained has been identified as Aslam Hossain Sentu, operator of the digital screen.
The message, which said "BCL will return dangerously, Sheikh Hasina will make a comeback. Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu", was displayed yesterday evening (14 December), which resulted into a protest by local people, students and BNP men.
Contacted, Officer In-Charge of Khulna Railway Police Ferdous Alam Khan said, "We received the information in the evening. The railway authorities switched off the digital screen immediately, and we talked to them after getting a video regarding the matter."
"Upon hearing that Sentu controls the digital screen, locals and authorities detained him and handed him over to us. We have taken him into our custody and legal steps will be taken against him," the OC added.
