Neo JMB man arrested in Chattogram
The Anti-Terrorism Unit of police arrested him while conducting an operation to nab Neo JMB members on Monday
The Anti-Terrorism Unit of police arrested an active member of Neo JMB from Padua ACM High School field of Lohagara upazila of Chattogram.
The arrestee was identified as Md Abdul Kaiyum, hailing from Lohagara upazila.
According to a press release, the Anti-Terrorism Unit arrested Kaiyum while conducting an operation to arrest Neo JMB members on Monday.
During preliminary interrogation, Kaiyum said that he was carrying out various extremist activities including training the members of the organisation, exchanging information through technology, and assisting and inciting others to extremist activities, the press release read.
Four mobile phones, six extremist books, leaflets and various party documents were seized from him when he was arrested.
A case has been filed against him under the Terrorism Act for conspiring to destabilise the country by inciting the common people to terrorist activities, disturbing the law and order situation of the country and threatening to destroy the security, independence and sovereignty of the country.
