Missing visitors body recovered from Feni River
The rescuers recovered Nazrul Islam Swapan's body around 3 pm on Saturday. The bodies of Anwar and Mehedi were recovered on Sunday
The bodies of three visitors who went missing in the Feni River on Saturday have been recovered from the river in Noakhali's Companyganj upazila.
The deceased are Anwar Hossain, 35, Nazrul Islam Shwapan, 30, and Mehedi Hassan, 20. All of them are from Debrampur village under Dagonbhuiyan upazila of the district. Anwar is an expatriate who had returned from Oman.
A team of 23 tourists went to visit the Musapur Closure area on Saturday morning. At one stage seven of them jumped into the river to catch fish, and three of them went missing, according to Neutron Das, deputy assistant director (DAD) of the Noakhali office of the Fire Service.
Upon receiving the news, the fire service personnel conducted a rescue operation in the river. Later, three other teams from Chattogram joined them in the rescue operation.
The rescuers recovered Nazrul Islam Swapan's body around 3 pm on Saturday. The bodies of Anwar and Mehedi were recovered on Sunday.
Companiganj Police Station Official-in-Charge, Fazlul Quader Chowdhury said that the bodies had been handed over to the relatives of them.
