Transport workers have blocked the Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Wednesday afternoon as a part of their protest demanding amendment to the new road transportation act 2018.
No buses were let to leave for Dhaka and Cox's Bazar from Chattogram since morning.
Dhaka-Chattogram and Cox's Bazar highways were blocked by transport workers since today morning, putting the passengers in immense sufferings.

Many passengers were seen walking to the destination, while some were waiting at the bus counters.
Chattogram Inter-District Bus Owners Association General Secretary Kafil Uddin Ahmed said, "Long distance routes are blocked as truck drivers and workers vandalised vehicles in Nizampur area."
"In this circumstances, we had to stop plying of all long distance buses from Chattogram and Cox's Bazar," he added.
The city's busiest area, Agrabad and Barek building intersections were mostly empty.
In Nimtoli Biswa Road, transport workers did not allow to operate any kind of vehicles.
On Monday, road transport owners and workers' associations in 10 districts, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna and Jashore, called a strike, protesting the enforcement of the law.
On November 19, the truck and other transport owners announced the strike and 9-point demand.
