The authorities have passed a directive to shut down shopping malls and shops in Khulna again due to the increasing risk of spreading coronavirus.
A press release from the Deputy Commissioner Md Helal Hossain passed the directive on Thursday which will be effective from Friday at 6 am.
It said that the Khulna district administration took a decision on April 9 to open-up shopping malls and other shops on a limited scale. However, the decision has been revoked because people are not adhering to the stipulated health guidelines and social distancing rules.
The shops will be closed until further notice. But treatment related emergency services like pharmacies will be open.
Vehicles carrying daily necessities and agricultural goods will be exempt from the order. Shops of daily necessities and kitchen markets will follow earlier directives given by the district administration.
All the people, including buyers, sellers and business institutions have been told to follow the directives in the press release. It also said that legal action will be taken against people or organisations that don't adhere to the rules.
