We are planning direct flights from Dhaka to Thimphu: Momen
“We are increasing flights to boost the people-to-people connection,” he said after a meeting with the visiting Bhutan Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering
Foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Tuesday said they are mulling operating direct flights on the Dhaka-Thimphu route.
"We are increasing flights to boost the people-to-people connection," he said after a meeting with the visiting Bhutan Prime Minister Dr Lotay Tshering at Intercontinental Dhaka.
Regarding a question on the possibility of signing two memoranda of understanding, the foreign minister said the Bhutan premier has come to join celebrations of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence.
Dr Lotay Tshering reached Dhaka on Tuesday morning on a state visit as a special representative of the Bhutanese King to participate in the celebrations.
This is Dr Tshering's second visit to Dhaka after assuming office in November 2018, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
