More than Three decades after the release of Top Gun lead actor Tom Cruise is back with a sequel for the movie that defined a generation.
He released the trailer for Top Gun 2 at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday.
The 57 year old daredevil actor was seen pulling off some unbelievable aerial moves in a US Navy jetfighter in the trailer, adding that “everything is for real” and “It's a love letter to aviation.”
Top Gun was released in 1986 and it was an article of the same name that inspired late director Tony Scott to make the movie.
The movie brought him a huge fame and its cinematic achievements in capturing breathless action sequences were widely praised by the audience.
The movie received Academy Award for best original song “Take My Breath Away” by the band Berlin.
The movie received some criticism for allegedly being a glorified nationalistic recruitment tool for the US Navy. Regardless of the criticism, the movie was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the US Library of Congress.
