15 DU students awarded trust fund scholarships
Fifteen outstanding students from the Department of Mathematics and the Department of English at Dhaka University (DU) were awarded trust fund scholarships at a ceremony held today in the Vice-Chancellor's Meeting Room. Among the recipients, seven Mathematics students received the Prof. Dr. Md. Mokhlesur Rahman Trust Fund Scholarship, while eight English students were awarded the Mazeda Khatun Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan attended the event as the chief guest and presented the scholarships to the students. Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Sayema Haque Bidisha presided over the event, which was also attended by notable guests, including Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof. Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Abdus Salam, Chairperson of the English Department Prof. Dr. Zerin Alam, Chairperson of the Mathematics Department Prof. Shapla Shirin, faculty members, and donor family representatives.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor congratulated the scholarship recipients, noting that their achievements were being recognised to inspire further academic excellence. He expressed gratitude to the donors for their generous contributions, which support students in their educational journeys. The Mazeda Khatun Memorial Trust Fund Scholarship was awarded to Md. Rojibul Islam, Nipu Khan, Muhammad Zobayer Islam, Tanjim Sadiya Sejuti, Most. Usha Ibnay Jahan Suborna, Esrat Jahan Runa, Sumi Akter, and Mohammed Yousuf. The Prof. Dr. Md. Mokhlesur Rahman Trust Fund Scholarship was awarded to Md. Alamgir Mia, Md. Asaduzamman, Md. Rakibul, Sharmin Parveen, Sraboni Rani Acharya, Md. Solaiman Hossain, and Tanjina Bithi.
