IGP gives four oxygen concentrators to DRU
IGP gave the oxygen concentrators to president of DRU, Rafiqul Islam Azad and general secretary of DRU, Reaz Chowdhury from his office at Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed has given four oxygen concentrators to Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), the largest organisation of professional reporters of Bangladesh.
The IGP gave the oxygen concentrators to president of DRU, Rafiqul Islam Azad and general secretary of DRU, Reaz Chowdhury from his office at Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
Each remote controlled oxygen concentrator is able to automatically generate 8 liters of oxygen at a time.
According to a press release, the oxygen concentrators are a new addition to DRU measures to protect the health of its members and families during the Covid-19 pandemic.
If a DRU member or family member is infected by coronavirus and suffers from shortness of breath, they will be able to immediately avail the use of these oxygen concentrators, the press release said.
The DRU will soon let its all members know how to avail this service.
The DRU president and general secretary expressed gratitude to the IGP for standing beside the working reporters during the coronavirus outbreak, the press release reads.
Senior police officials were present during the handing over ceremony of the electronic devices to DRU.
