CSE fest 2025 inaugurated at United International University
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of United International University (UIU) organised two-days (17-18 January 2025) contest for inter-college and university students in different segments, including Blockchain Olympiad, ICT Olympiad, Project Show, Line Following Robot (LFR) and Programming Contest titled "UIU CSE Fest 2025".
The inaugural ceremony of the fest was held on 17 January 2025 (Friday) at 10:00 AM at the UIU Campus, United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka-1212.
Professor Dr Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Honourable Adviser, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was the Chief Guest. Mr Shish Haider Chowdhury, ndc, MCIPS (CS), Secretary, Information and Communication Technology Division, GoB, was present as the Special Guest. The Vice Chancellor of UIU, Professor Dr Abul Kashem Mia, presided over the Ceremony.
Dr. Suman Ahmmed, Associate Professor, Dept. of CSE, UIU and Organizing Secretary, UIU CSE Fest 2025, delivered the welcome speech, and Professor Dr Mohammad Nurul Huda, Head, Dept. of CSE, UIU, delivered the vote of thanks.
A total of 1500 students from about 80 public and private universities and 30 colleges in Bangladesh are participating in the fest. Competitions will be held in various segments, especially for young students of the CSE and ICT sectors. The winners of different competitions will receive 11,00,000 taka as prize money.
In his speech, the chief guest, Professor Dr Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, called for working for the welfare of people while supporting human values and technical education. He also encouraged students to make technology relevant to the welfare of the people in solving problems of the country.
The special guest, Mr Shish Haider Chowdhury, thanked UIU for organising such a fest at the national level and announced that the ICT Division will always support such programs. At the same time, he called for students to become skilled in technology.
The programme included faculty members, students, officials, academicians, government high officials, ICT experts, journalists, and other distinguished guests.
