Abu Jafar new AMD of Dhaka Bank
He has been serving the bank as deputy managing director since 2015
Mohammad Abu Jafar has recently been promoted to the positions of additional managing director (AMD) at Dhaka Bank Limited.
He joined the bank as deputy managing director (international banking) in 2015.
According to a press release, he has made significant contribution in overall business development of the bank, especially in ready-made garment (RMG) financing, enrichment of offshore banking, treasury business, foreign trade financing international business and the bank's overall operational control functionalities.
On the basis of remarkable achievement regarding consistent and substantial contribution to the bank's growth, the board has promoted him to the post of AMD, said the press release.
Abu Jafar has 30 years of successful banking career. Before joining Dhaka Bank, he was senior executive vice president and branch manager of National Bank's Dilkusha branch (Principal Branch).
He started his professional career back in 1990 with Uttara Bank as probationary officer. Afterwards, he joined National Bank 2006 as senior vice president.
Jafar was born in Chattogram in 1964. He obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from the University of Chattogram. He is also a diplomaed associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh.
