3 killed in Rangamati bailey bridge collapse

Three people were killed as a truck plunged into a river in Kutubchhari area of Rangamati Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning following collapse of a bailey bridge.
The deceased were identified as Arafat, 35, Jahirul, 50 and Bacchu, 26. They are truck driver, helper and worker.
Kabir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station told The Business Standard that the accident took place when the concrete-laden truck collapsed in the Chengi river around 7:15 am, leaving the trio dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Rangamati Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
