Fire at Bata storehouse in Khulna causes nearly Tk4 crore losses

Fire broke out at a storehouse of footwear company Bata located adjacent to Nesaria Kamil Madrasa in Khulna's Mujgunni area.
The blaze that sparked on Saturday afternoon burnt down footwears and other valuable goods worth Tk4 crore, authorities claimed.
A good deal of footwear products were stored in the depot to catch Khulna market ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

Six fire service units -- four from Boira station and two from Khalishpur -- brought the flame under control after an effort of more than one hour, said Senior Station Officer at Boira Fire Service Md Saiduzzaman.
He said it was being guessed that the fire originated from an electric short circuit.
