At least nine people, including a newlywed couple, have been killed on the spot and six others injured after a train hit a microbus at the Ullapara rail crossing in Sirajganj on Monday evening.
Six of the victims are - the groom Rajon, bride Sumaiya Khatun, her sister Bulbuli Khatun, sister in law Momotaj Begum, brother in law Shoriful Islam and driver of the microbus Mohammad Shakil.
Ullapara Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Dewan Kaushik Ahmed confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

Fire Service workers rushed to the spot immediately and rescued the victims. The injured were sent to the hospital, he added.
