The protesting teachers and students of Jahangirnagar University sent documents concerning the alleged corruption of the institution's Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Farzana Islam to the Ministry of Education on Thursday night.
"We sent the documents to the ministry, although this is not our duty," said Professor Rayhan Rhyne of the Department of Philosophy, spokesperson of the protesters.
He said they had collected the information from newspapers, online and television media. "There are many documents regarding the vice chancellor's corruption in our hands, including audio recordings," Rayhan added.
Earlier on Thursday, the protesting teachers and students brought out a procession from the Shaheed Minar at the campus.
They painted cartoons and slogans on the road criticising the vice chancellor in front of the old registrar building. The students also arranged a concert in front of the VC's residence.

For the last 15 days, a number of students and teachers of Jahangirnagar University have been demonstrating on the campus under the banner "Jahangirnagar Against Corruption," demanding VC Farzana's resignation.
On November 5, the university was closed for an indefinite period after 20 people were injured in an attack on protesters, allegedly perpetrated by members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League unit of the university.
Meanwhile, former students of Jahangirnagar University, teachers and civil society members organized a protest rally at Shahbag on Friday, demanding the resignation of Prof Farzana Islam.
Prof Anu Muhammad, Prof Rahnuma Ahmed, writer and researcher Altaf Parvez, journalist Faruk Wasif, and JU senate member Barrister Shihab Uddin Khan, were also present at the rally.
Prof Anu Muhammad said, ''Prof Farzana is an unelected vice chancellor. This is why she has no commitment to the university. She misused the Chhatra League activists to fulfill her purpose. The university will not be stable if she does not resign. ''
