Strong obstacles ahead for BNP: Tarique
Strong obstacles await the BNP ahead of the national election, said the party's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today (23 November), urging leaders and activists to remain cautious.
"Even if past dictators have fallen, their conspiracies persist, and they may still succeed," he said while speaking virtually at a divisional training workshop in Rajshahi.
He said to overcome this, the party must earn the trust of the people.
Pointing out that BNP will face a challenging path to power in the upcoming election, Tarique said, "An invisible, strong wall awaits you. It will be very difficult to break through. So, be careful from now on."
He urged activists to promote the party's 31-point agenda, gain public support, and align with people's expectations.
While acknowledging that not all expectations can be met immediately, he reassured that if BNP forms the government, it will work towards fulfilling those promises.
In response to a BNP activist's question about the Farakka Dam, Tarique Rahman said, "The previous autocratic government had deliberately negotiated the Farakka agreement to appease India."
He assured that under BNP's leadership, the country will secure its fair share of water through international channels.
